Blog#11: Movie Genre

Westerns were popular between 1930 and 1960. It is usually set in the American Old West in the 19th century. Here are three keywords about it. The first was the Cowboys. The main character in Western movies is usually a rugged, strong cowboy who is good at using guns and riding horses. The second is Frontier. Westerns are usually set in the vast landscapes of the American Frontier, such as deserts, border towns, ranches, and the Wild West. The third is justice. It is a recurring theme in Westerns. It makes a clear distinction between good and evil. Good cowboys stand for justice and often risk their lives to protect others. Edwin S. Porter, known as 'the father of the story film', was a famous director of the American Western. The Good the Bad and the Ugly Western was made by Sergio Leone in 1966. " In this world, there are two kinds of people, my friend: Those with loaded guns and those who dig. You dig." This line is one of the greatest movie quotes. In general, the Western genre has become important in film, capturing the spirit of adventure, heroism, and the exploration of the American Old West.
