Her inspiration for fashion design comes from her experiences in different cultural countries: the United States, and Rome. She founded Kim Shui's brand in 2016, known for its bold and playful aesthetic. Her clothing often features bright colors, unique patterns, and unconventional silhouettes. Time magazine named her a "Trendsetter" in 2023 because of her unique and innovative clothing designs. She hopes to empower and uplift women through her fashion designs. She rejects the idea that women need to conform to society's beauty standards. A woman does not necessarily have to have big breasts, perky hips, and a thin waist to be the most beautiful. She embraces girls of all sizes and aims to create inclusive clothing that fits all shapes and sizes. To make every girl feel confident and beautiful in her clothes. The trend that Kim Shui represents is to break with traditional fashion, she combines elements from different cultures and eras to create a new, diverse, and inclusive fashion.

Blog#3: The reflection of Unit 1

I have gained a lot of knowledge through learning about culture and cultural identity. If use a very short phrase to express the essence of this unit, I will choose Hot Pot. Hot pot is like a multicultural world, different cultures are like different food. All food can be cooked alone in the pot, and can also be cooked together, but each food is unique and will not be replaced. I learn about culture through reading, watching videos, taking classes, and group discussions. One of the fastest ways for me to learn is to connect with people from different cultures and backgrounds. The main character in Western movies is usually a rugged, strong cowboy who is good at using guns and riding horses. The second is Frontier. Westerns are usually set in the vast landscapes of the American Frontier, such as deserts, border towns, ranches, and the Wild West. The third is justice. It is a recurring theme in Westerns.
