"Lone Digger" is a new song from a genre that is new to me by the French electronic band Caravan Palace and is the electro-swing genre. "I Really Love You" is a Cantonese song from my parents' generation which was performed by Hong Kong rock band Beyond in 1989, and its lyrics include gratitude for a mother's love and blessings. My father likes it very much and often sings this song when he washes the dishes. "Roar" is a song that shows my generation's values which was released by American singer Katy Perry in 2013. The song's lyrics show a message of strength and independence, inspiring us to embrace our own strength and bravely overcome challenges. "Despacito" is a Spanish-language song from Puerto Rican culture and it was performed by Puerto Rican singer Luis Fonsi and Reggie's top rapper Daddy Yankee. It's a generous display of sex and love between men and women, and it is one of the most popular songs in the world. "Count on Me" is a song whose lyrics I can explain, which was sung by Bruno Mars. Its lyrics express the sentiment of friends supporting and helping each other. "God is a Girl" is my all-time favorite song and the first song I ever heard in English, it was released in 2002 by Groove Coverage, a German dance-pop band. I like it very much because it is full of energy and optimism, every time I listen to this song it makes me happy and confident.

Blog#3: The reflection of Unit 1

I have gained a lot of knowledge through learning about culture and cultural identity. If use a very short phrase to express the essence of this unit, I will choose Hot Pot. Hot pot is like a multicultural world, different cultures are like different food. All food can be cooked alone in the pot, and can also be cooked together, but each food is unique and will not be replaced. I learn about culture through reading, watching videos, taking classes, and group discussions. One of the fastest ways for me to learn is to connect with people from different cultures and backgrounds. I am glad that there are so many different cultures in our class, including Chinese, Japanese, Vietnamese, Mexican, Colombian, Turkish, and so on.       Westerns were popular between 1930 and 1960. It is usually set in the American Old West in the 19th century. Here are three keywords about it. The first was the Cowboys. The main character in Western movies is usually a rugged, strong cowboy who is good at using guns and riding horses. The second is Frontier. Westerns are usually set in the vast landscapes of the American Frontier, such as deserts, border towns, ranches, and the Wild West. The third is justice. It is a recurring theme in Westerns. It makes a clear distinction between good and evil. Good cowboys stand for justice and often risk their lives to protect others. Edwin S. Porter, known as 'the father of the story film', was a famous director of the American Western. The Good the Bad and the Ugly Western was made by Sergio Leone in 1966.
